My glass art is a reflection of
My creative mind and my free spirit
My glass art gives me wings
So that I may soar over seas and oceans
So that I can see my reflection to know myself and
Explore the journey of my creative spirit
My glasswings allow me to share the journey with you.

I have been a lamp-worker, instructor and jewelry designer since the year 2000. My journey through this art form is always expanding and I give credit to all the glass-makers that have taught me things all the way. I know where I am in my journey of accomplishments right now and how far I have come to be at this point. Lampworking is not easy. For me it takes practice and patience. Glass is an art form that I love to work with and share with others. Thank you for allowing me to share this experience with you.

Handmade Glass Art

In my studio I create my glass art designs using glass mainly from Italy, but also from Germany and the US. To start, the glass is usually in the shape of a rod about 3/4 inch wide and 12-14 inches long. I melt the glass using an oxygen/propane torch. When the glass is the right temperature I wind the glass on a stainless steel mandrel coated with a ceramic slip. The ceramic slip creates a barrier s the glass does not adhere to the mandrel. I then use the flame of the torch and other tools to shape the glass. I decorate the piece with the addition of more glass, enamels and precious metals. To create a piece using a torch may take 15 minutes or several hours depending on the design. The completed design is placed in a digitally controlled kiln to be annealed. This annealing process usually takes 4 to 6 hours. Annealing makes the glass strong and durable. I then remove the glass from the mandrel, clean the slip off by bathing it in Wisconsin rushing waters to cleanse their souls and ship them out to you for your unique jewelry designs.
